Default Should i paint just my front, or my whole car.

Well i got a new front end, and my dad and various people just say paint my whole car...its a 97 integra..vogue silver....and a few shops said its pretty hard to color match silver...the paint is pretty clean and shiny..its not dull at all..
But, also I heard not sure about this but that its not good to paint cars during the winter. and did alot of your front ends come out a different color than your car?

paint it silver again? i was thinking gunmetal or white?

Paint the whole car. When I was working at my body shop we replaced a whole Maxima front end and painted it to match the body. 99 Maxima Silver and it didnt look right. So it was a newer car stored inside and the paint was the factory color, and it still didnt match right. I would rightly suggest doing the whole car at once. Also if you have newer paint on the front is will fade slower than the back and you will be 2 toned in a year even if it looks ok for the first few months.

If the paint factory is in good shape and with relatively few dings, just paint the front. If you have a few dings that can be fixed using a paintless dent removal service, just get that done and have the car wetsanded and buffed. Maybe jsut get it recleared. unless you car is really messed put (scratches, dings and rust) don't paint the entire car. Nothing is good as the factory paint.

thats what I was thinking too. My friend had a 94 gsr (that green color I don't remember what it was called) He got the complete itr front end conversion and when they painted it, everything matched perfectly.

I'd really have to see pictures of the car to make the assessment.

Take it to a couple of body shops and see what they recommend. On good condition silver cars you can usually color match by blending the whole front end. Silver is hard to match, yes. But that is why when you want to paint a fender, they want you to blend in the other parts on the front end. A quality body shop can usually blend a whole front end rather than painting the whole car.

We can say all we want, but our comments are just general vague assumptions without pictures. Have you ever called a body shop and asked for a quote? A good body shop will not quote over the phone, they need to see the car. There's a lot to painting/prepping/colorsanding people don't realize...

if you cant afford to have the whole thing painted, tell them to paint the front end and blend both doors. you'll never be able to tell the color difference.

sunset orange pearl off the element

i would just repaint the whole car, you paint extra but you dont have to worry about a half *** job, plus if the shop didnt paint it as close as you want, you gonna be mad at yourself for not spending the extra quarter for the dollar.

just some personal opinion

You are in Socal right? Come here to Torrance at the Honda auto body shop.. Yoshi says they do really good, matching jobs. Also south bay auto body has one of the best color matching processes. We had them repaint fender flares and a running board due to a wreck and they did an awsome job... . Just leave the car silver. Try washing it with a bleach/ water mix and take it to a body shop. The color should come out more.. With less fading
