ok....this is fucked up, i bought a used tranny from a reputable shop around here...my stock GSR transmission was messed up and the rebuild was $2400....the used tranny is $850 plus $600 labor....now problem: on the way home i could NOT get into 3rd, 4th or reverse....my speedo wasnt working and I threw a CEL (NEVER, EVER have i gotten one before)....is there a reason why the shifter wont go into those gears? it wont go into them with the clutch pushed in and just playing around with the shifter....i dont know what to do...whats the tranny designation of a GSR tranmission? this one says S80.

 

S80 or Y80 could be LS or GSR. Sounds like it has some bad forks, maybe the shift actuator arm. Sounds like you got a bum deal. Take it back.
