We are trying to run 26" slick with Progress Drag suspension. The car sits very low with Progress Drag setup. In order to run 26" slicks we have to cut the fenders little. Does NHRA allow cut fenders?

NHRA does not allow cut fenders.
Battle of the Imports also does not allow cut fenders.

 

NHRA allows you to trim the fenders for bigger slicks, as long as the slicks are the legal size (26" tall)

 

yes at one point NHRA (Jim Skelly) did say they were going to allow cutting/triming of the fenders, however when the new rules/revisions for 2004 came out, it does not say that its allowed or not allowed. Argo, since no change was offically made to the rule book regarding it, you would go by the previous rules which say that cutting/triming of fenders are not allowed.

 

although that is the way it "should" be, it is up to nhra's discression. i would email them personally about this issue.

 

Does the same apply to rolling the lip of the fender?
