Default Fastest spooling turbo for low boost (6-8) for a D series that will last to a stock redline??

i hate lag, i like power

i'm looking at KKK turbo's cuz u can find them for dirt cheap nowdays, especialy at vw sites where people part out to get bigger ones.

what would i be looking for from the KKK series? a k24? or a k26?

i just need some info thrown at me, doesnt have to be coherent :D thanks.

This is really your best bet!

The 14B has a pretty quick spool, but I've seen the small T3 spool sooner. the T-25 spools insanly fast (I had a full 10psi at 2800rpm on a ZC), but will pretty much die after 5500RPM.

ok so a 14B what are those and where can i get them. i will also look into those wrx turbos.
but thats good, i dont pull to redline in the streets anyway, plus i was thinking of increasing the stroke too for some added low end torque, chances are i wont see the track with this car, but i want it powerfull enough to roll on 17's and not lose speed in 3rd gear going up a hill :D

I'm sorry, I just disagree. I did a tiny bit of port matching around the lip of the exhaust side flange where it attaches to the manifold. I don't know how much difference it made because I didn't test beforehand, but my T25 hits a ton when vtec kicks in at 5000 revs (vafc), and keeps pulling to redline. Good enough at 7 psi to pull 101 mph trap speeds in my 2400 lb car (with me in it), on street tires. In the end, all we have to go on is our experiences. Mine have been different.

isnt a T3 kinda big? or am thinking of something else

also about the T25, ive been looking on ebay and there alot of diffrent types, diffrent ar housings and ****, also some are t3/t4 combos which i think i should stay away from

can someone give me the exact specs of the T25 or T3 that i should be looking for

also i'm considering keeping my y7 head and just get a reground cam, any SERIOUS downsides to this??

A t28 should have the same spool as a t28 the only diff is the comp wheel not the turbine. I belive a t28 is just a t25 with a t3 comp. T28s are NOT the same. a t28 with an .82 a/r hot side is gonna spool slower than a .40. with my t25 it seemed that I needed a bigger exhaust not turbine so i'm sure if a t28 addresses that problem at all....

I used a t25 at 9psi on my z6. spools fast 2.5k - falls off at 5.5k but still pulls a bit up top.

I just picked up a t3 with .63 a/r turbine and 50 trim .42 a/r comp for $25! I can't wait to shift above 6k again!!

T25 will spool istantaneously but will fad off.
.42/.48 spools at like 1k or something and get full boost around 2500ish. 14b is about the same.

I always like to chose T3's because there are a ton of manifolds for them.

when you say boost falls off, how is that so? you reach lets say 9 pounds, then the rest gets dumped, but you maintain a consistent pressure no? the rest is a matter of having the right cam..... alteast thats what my logic tells me.

like, if it spools to full 9 pounds by 2.5k, and stays at 9 pounds all the way through.... i mean.. thats exactly waht i'm looking for!! 14B it is.... found one for 100 bux from dsm trader.... see how that goes

what about 1 - 3 k??

remeber this is not a race car, cuz it would actualy be cheaper for me to get a simple turbo than buy a set of light wheels + rubber lol. I was stupid when i bought the car, the wheels that came with it are nice looking but weight a ton, and my mom decided to scratch one of them badly so now i cant even get rid of them for a decent price

and probably the only internal modification i will do is seafoam to clean the engine out and then put a boost friendly cam on my regular y7 head

if i can get 160 whp i will be MORE than happy, cuz currently i zip around town in my dads 2.0 8valve golf, rated at 115 flywheel HP and its PLENTY for the monotone rythem of the streets of toronto

now if my non bodykitted civic flying up behind people out of nowhere muaahahha.

plus i wouldnt race in a civic IMO..... not when the stakes are high, unless i have someone backing me with replacment parts n ****. Plus i'm not all into drag, going in a strait line just seems so dull........ man i wanna move to BC

If you want a turbo strictly from KKK, get the KO3S or the KO4. The 1.8T on the GTi gets that turbo fully spooled at 2.2k. Crazy fast!...only problem is you will get a lot of low end torque which with your fwd = wheelspin/hop
