"To all ITR owners, you might not like the new ITR as much...
I have a friend of mine (owner of a 96spec ITR) who test drive the new 2002 ITR in Japan twice, and I just would like to post his review message here for you guys reference. Me and him share very simular driving style and what we look for in a car are also very much the same. So I take his comments and opinions very well and honestly believe even we might see a RSX Type R here in the future, but it will not be the same as our current ITR.

I drove 2 new ITRs.
The first one was in Tokyo. That was Spoon's test car that they just bought, and hadn't torn apart yet. In the streets, I felt: Engine: Very smooth, and has a LOT of torque even at the lower end. The i-VTEC makes the engine rev somewhat similar to the S2000 engine rather than our ITR. You can't feel the punch at 6000prm. You get the torque and power from 2000rpm all the way up. The response, too, is very good.
Transmission: Very sure shifts (both up and down). That insecure shift feeling of our ITR has gone away. And the 6gears have a close gear ratio for a crazy acceleration.
Brakes: Brembo rules. That, you just have to step on the pedal for yourself.
Handling, and suspension: The 17 inch wheels and RE040tyres give it so much grip around 90degree tight turns in Tokyo's residential area! The new ITR can be driven safely and fast by anyone. It doesn't require any special skill, like our car does. The body seems so firm, and you can feel the responsiveness of how quickly the front turns in, and the tail grips its way through the corner.
The interior is very luxurious now. It's like a Prelude.
The second time I test drove the new ITR (in the mountains) I felt that it's a very well made, stable car, but I would never trade it for my ITR. The joy of hitting 6000rpm, the sound, the lightness, the oversteer, and all of those Spartan factors have been erased. I would buy the new ITR if I were 10 years older, but for now, I wouldn't swap it for my ITR. The new one is definitely faster, though! Fun? I don't know about that!
If you share the same values as me as far as what you want from an ITR, I'd suggest you to keep the one you have. There will never be a car like this one in the future. If possible, I'd like to keep mine for life.

Thanks, I cant take credit for it, Its Ray's Friend and Ray that made the original post and if his friend in Japan drives like he does then I totally respect his opinion.
