this is a stupid question but how "sturdy" are the cf hoods. ive never dealt with a hood
i know you can dent a metal hood on a crx with your finger let alone somebody trying to lean on it or sit on the edge.
do the cf hoods flex, are they stronger than metal, i know they can crack but what does it take to crack one?

the prosses of making the hood determinds performance\strength. most cf hoods on streetcars, are made from a wet layup. (this can be done at home, no diffrence from glassfiber actually.) the real cf hoods cost an arm and a leg, because they are way more expencive to make. ( requiers pressurised oven, vacumebagging. wich is expencive equipment
you basicly get what you pay for....
the wet layup hoods are not as good looking as the propper ones.
carbon fiber is sensitive to impact damage.

one more question
so if i get one of those cheap $250-400 cf hoods and somebody (100lb girl) tries to sit on the front of it, will it crack or brake?

Correct, the better the quality the stonger it is. Overall tho, Carbon Fiber is pretty stong
