if you get the stock type s one id stick with the aem...unless you get the "jdm type s intake chamber." i had the aem cold air, ice man cold airr and the type s chamber and i like the jdm type s chamber and the performance is better. the chamber connects with your stock intake. i also liked the iceman a lot better than the aem caues after driving a lot...if you feel the iceman its still cool...but if you touch the aem...the intake is warm/hot.

aren't the iceman intakes made out of plastic?

personally i'd go with the type-s intake. looks real clean in the engine bay

the type S looks like an OE airbox.

the TypeS is supposed to be better for low/midrange as it doesn't rob the engine of low end torque like a CAI does. people that have them like them.

or if you can get your hands on one, get a euro-R intake. It's a funnel design with a larger piping diameter than the aem unit.
here's a pic of one with the mugen airbox.

does it give as much power as the AEM, or is it just that the AEM gives top end and the type s gives more low end..

also if i allready took out all the resnator out of the bumper with the little box, would i still need that or just the box that the filter comes in and the tube.

Is the Type S intake loud. I hope there is some kind of sound to it or do you have to take out the res to get any sound. Does taking out the res put you in danger of hydroing the car?

NO, u mihgt have to take out the resonator, but that will defeat the purpose of the intake. And NO to your last question.

I've heard of the ARM having a midrange "hump" on other cars, around 4-5k.
