Default ___Post your PICS of SLICK CLEARANCE and OVERVIEW of CAR....

I am in the market for slicks and i wanted to see everyone's clearance and general suspension height so i know what to expect and what to look for.

if you would, show a pic of your overall car, then another of the front from an agle showing fender gap. Please post your slick size and wheel offset if possible. also, suspension setup if it is a street car. Thank you.

slick clearance...whats that. im in the middle of choping my car apart to fit the 28's a bit better.

its getting cut alot more than this... if you look at the lower latch for the door, we are cutting it back to there..and than going upwards..
basicly tubbing the car for 28 inch slicks.

everything to the left of this bar is being cut off.(left on your monitor/ passenger side of vehicle)

You said you're cutting everything to the left of the bar off, i'd check with nhra about that first, i don't think they'll go for it. I'd hate to see you finish and then have to weld it back on!

i use adjustable springs with 900lb springs in the rear(track only).kybagx shocks and that is pretty much it.the ties are 26x8x15 and the wheels are 15x8 bogarts.

ok, as for the wheels. many people run 13 and that seems to be pretty standard but why? is it only b/c of weight? i'm assuming you are running 15" wheels to clear your brakes, is that correct? also, did you have to do any trimming?

yeah,15" barely clear itr brakes.as far as trimming goes,i removed the plastic wheel wells, hammered in the body seams, and trimmed the inner lip of the front bumper.it still rubs a little if you turn hard

On Kenny's there's still material after the tube. They get all fussy when it stops at the tube. Gardella had to weld back the stock pieces on his car.

thats kinda lame, the material to the "outside" of the tube isnt serving any purpose. just gettng in the way of the tires. oh well...back to the drawing boards.

all of the trimming is done on the inside of the fender.none of the outside has been touched.as far as the shocks go,the front is the same as a gsr,but the rears are r specific.

if you want, you can use koni's for an 88 crx. and put a small spacer back there for the spring. reason being the crx shocks are shorter than the R

M&H All four corners.

It's relatively stock height right now. We'll be using the Skunk2 900 springs in the rear, and Tokico 5-ways. It'll be street/strip. TCI Spool.

Heres a pic of my rex 2 years ago when it was at stock height. these are 24.5*8*13. They used to rub very little when the wheels were cut hard and the weight of the car would shift turning. But now w/ the coil overs i just raise the front of the car about 1/2 an inch higher than stock and have no problems at all.
