Shifted into first instead of third what happens now
Like the topic says whether it's my fault or my cars isn't what I want to know. I was at around 7k rpm and went to shift into 3rd hard when it went into first. Heard horrible noises, car boged, nasty wierd *** wheel hop. I pretty much thought I fucked my car up good. The wierd thing is it drives fine. If something were to go wrong because of what happened what would it be, what should I be looking for. Does anyone think I should bring it to have it looked at. If you think I should have it looked at what should I tell the dealer? Thanks in advanced for the help, it's greatly appreciated.

do a compression and leakdown test...
only way to check if something bad happened, IE bent valves

damn into 1st.... well iono, I heard that most cars can take a misshift or 2 as long as its not too bad of a miss..... but definitely get it checked b/c my friend's CL-S drove okay with a fat hole in the block and 3 dead cylinders.....

Yo ******* if your gonna talk ****, write it the right way dick. And I've had problems with my synchros before so thats why I'm asking questions. It's people like you that make honda-tech wack!
Is the MIL on? You probably want to take it to the dealer, We have an RSX-S in here now thats getting a new block and head assembly, Courtesy of a mis-shift and 9,068 rpms.
i can't possibly shift from 2nd to 1st at high RPM w/o forcing and jamming the stick (i think it's designed like that). But i don't think a real demage is done to your car as long as you don't misshift all the time

Yeah maybe if your motor isnt an interference design....
Only takes one mis shift to gernede the motor.

oh...i was under the impression that no serious damage is done when misshifting at low speed. How fast was the car driven anyway?

All you need to do is spin the motor fast enough to float the valves - different on every engine though. A two-gear downshift at redline will usually accomplish this.

You must have really thrown it into first hard for it to go in. I have to force the damn thing in even when im going like 10 mph. Make sure your comfortable with the car before you go around driving it hard.
We do the machine work for an Acura dealership around here..from the experiences that I've seen so far from the overrevved type s's, the tip of the valve snaps off, and we've seen a couple bent valves..Comp and leak down tests are good to get done in your situation since the car runs..that should give you a good idea..
Good luck

Having worked at a Acura Dealership I have seen Lots of RSX-S drive out and towed in. Most were from people getting the car and thinking that they now have a race car. In my experience I would say take it a dealership and have a compression and cylinder leakdown test done. I would suspect you have bent some valves or maybe worse. I have seen RSX's drive in seeing normal that ran fine but had bent valves. Also just a note don't ever tell them you were racing at a track or on the street. I remember after the first 15 or so Honda started refusing to warrenty the engine due to driver abuse. Just tell them you don't know what happened and it made a bad noise. Your safe then mostly. Thats also why I hate body kits and loud exhausts, intakes and such people automaticlly assume you race the hell out of it. Dealers love to blame someone else. Mostly you!
Just to make this simple I made the original post. Like many of you said at 10mph you have to jam it into first for it to go in, my car is the same way. I shifted hard into third but no harder then usual when topping out second. When i first started driving this car I try to shift hard into third and miss completly. Thats why this occasion was wierd. I've been taking it easy on my si now and the car drives fine. I's just wondering if this will spark a problem later on down the road.
Did you ever get that comp test and leakdown test we recommended?? I've seen some pretty harsh overrevs that the drivers stated "drove fine for a while" that ended up causing severe damage in the long run..pay attention to the post that someone showed a pic of a damaged cylinder head..I see this all to much and the head is not the only place taking the beating..your cylinder walls do not like loose metal running around in your motor, believe me..that goes for pistons, rings, bearings, etc..you get the point..
To add to this, in your original post, you stated "horrible noises"..this should tell you to get these tests done, whether it drives fine or not..
