well i've been lazy about diagnosing the egr valve (loping idle) due to the busy holiday schedule. also the fact that i don't have the vacumm pressure gauge the manual calls for. anyway while driving tonight i threw a code 12 (egr valve, no action) at wot. i pulled over to check the code, then a few minutes later it came on again. i guess i don't have to t/s it now, hence the woot!

anyway my main question is will driving with this code have any adverse effects? Also how do i go about cleaning it? just remove it and clean with carb cleaner?

Steve, I have an EGR valve for you. When you get a free moment give me a call. I work Friday but should be available anytime after that.

We can check to see if the EGR is the issue or not.

 

yeah hopefully i can find the time to t/s it tomorrow. the wife would probably try to kill me if wanted to work on the car to day.
