AEM air bypass valve, install --> where to cut the pipe?
hello, i just bought an AEM air bypass valve, so now i have to install it of course, but which part of the pipe has to be cut ?
some people say it is better to placing the bypass valve on the lower part of the straight pipe closest to the filter, but somebody said in the opposite of the above statment...
and i wanna hear some feedback of the people who has the AEM CAI and the air bypass valve
thankz

definately shoulda came with instructions. mine is located right before it bends to go downward, about 4 inches south of the distributor.
i'm about to replace it with the J's though, heard nothing but good things about that intake

I would not even bother with the Bypass, I have had mine for nearly 3 years and not a problem. You have to use your head when it comes to deep water but that should not be a problem. I have been through plenty of rain storms without incident.

whats wrong with a little more protection...$50 or blown motor?
anyways, cut the intake pipe as far away from the throttle body as possible, IE right where the stock airbox used to be, you should have plenty of room there

it came with instruction, but i did a serach on the web, and people said they did wut the instruction tells but it decrease the hp...
that's why i post here and wanna see people's opinions
haven't decide gonna cut the pipe in half yet, since i dun wanna cut 200 bucks in half and reduce the power
if the bypass valve really not worth to cut the pipe, i might just refund it

Isn't the point insurng the safety of your motor, not the increase/decrease in .xx hp??

A friend of mine sucked some piece of odd material (ie rock/metal) through the "motor saving" bypass valve....toasted his H22
The "Foam" material of the bypass valve isn't very durable, and tears very easily.
The car was a prelude, however I'd still be concerned...
