My 95 accord.
I have a 95 accord ex auto, and am thinking about purchasing a motor/tranny set-up off of a friend of mine. I believe its a non-vtec DOHC JDM f22 but I am not sure. Would this mini me swap be worth it in terms of performance. He also has the auto tranny for that matter. He is asking 700 for both and is helping me install. Any clarifications on this motor/swap and any advice would be greatly appriecated.
He told me that the motor is rated at 160hp/135..TRQ
Thanks

ok, sorry for the confusion people, but after finding out that DX's are carbuerated, i ditched the car( gave back to uncle). SO once again I need more info on the F22B2. what is different from this motor compared to the one I have now? is it a worthwhile swap?
Ok I spoke with my friend tonight he is selling a JDM F22b non-vtec 2.2l motor/auto tranny. He wants $850 installed, with a new water pump/head gasket/timing belt. Is this a good deal? Would it be woth the money to go ahead, and purchase the motor or should I just keep the SOHC Vtec I have now. He says the JDM non-vtec is boost friendly which might be helpful down the road? thanks a lot for any help.
Its boost friendly mainly because of low compression and a f22b once boosted is a monster, there are a bunch of people on here that have boosted f22's, good bore/stroke and that engine is damn near bulletproof stock....I have 180K on mine and it doesn't leak a drop and still gets 28mpg. A JDM f22 depending on miles installed for 850 would be a phatty deal. Just make sure you get a upgraded ecu to take full advantage of that JDM power baby. Or you could keep your current engine and build it for 850 and boost that...just a thought. Good luck with the car
