Just tinted my tail lights, Pics within
I used transparent vinyl made from oracal (www.oracal.com) -8300 series in light grey although dark grey might have looked a tad better. Taillights look pretty good in the dark and a little darker in the day.

total cost was around 8 dollars considering 5 dollars was from shipping. There's quite a bit of excess vinyl left (about enough to do 2 more cars), so it's a pretty good deal for those with friends that wants to do this mod as well.
