what good vtec engagment point

Default what good vtec engagment point

ive heard there can be negative affects from making vtec engage to early, on the factory c5 setting it kick in about 5800, i was think about changin it to about 5000-5200rpms....what do you guys think

you should get your car tuned on a dyno and find out where it makes it hp so you know a good place to set it at .. with out tuned i would put it around 5500 dont wanna go to low

Exactly. Without dyno tuning you really have no idea what you're doing to the torque curve and what may seem like a good idea may actually hurt horsepower. Take it and get it tuned.

Trial and error if you can street tune it. My car likes a 6,000rpm engagement, but I played with everything from 5000-6000.
