Every 70K for me.... On your next one you can slap on some cam gears , have the cover cut and get free inspection of the timing belt anytime you want....

Honda recommends it after every 90K miles. This includes the timing belt, water pump, drive belt, and a few other things like the standard oil change and whatnot.

For cars year 2000 and newer, they recommend every 100K miles. I had my 97 LS done at 94K miles and it was still in good shape. But, especially with a timing belt, better safe than sorry. If one goes when you're driving, say goodbye to your motor.

In my previous car, 90 Celica GT, It hadn't been changed till 150k miles The timing belt was in rough shape. The engine was a non-interferance type anyways.

Well to answer your question, I didn't change mine until about 110K on my older Honda. They say that when your car hits 100K, that it would be a good time to change the timing belt. Also, while you are down there, you should change the water pump. Probably won't be a bad idea to change the belts as well.

For the new new Hondas/Acuras, they come with a timing chain so they will never need replacing unless you really abuse your engine and just plain wear out the timing chain.
