The best vtec engagement point should be chosen with the aid of a dyno, and then your fueling should be modified for it with the aid of a wideband.

4400, IMHO, is too low for NA. You are probably losing midrange power.

y do i need a dyno to simply mess with the vtec? The hondata automatically adjusts airfuel ratio for what you set it at.

I have 4200 on an otherwise stock motor. Works great. Though I've never seen anyone else with it that low *shrug* I guess I have a factory freak lol

Are you running your hondata unit in conjunction with a wideband input?

According to the dyno thats how low I had to go to get rid of the dip in power.

is run number three the one with the VTEC set at 4200 RPMs? seems like you start to run really rich after 7000 RPMs.

yes. I know its rich but this was done within 3 pulls and at the time the car was bone stock so we thought it would be a waste to tune the car more since I was expecting my exhaust within the next few days. I'll probably get an hour ot dyno time once I get my cat installed and header modded.

I actually set my V-tec to 5900. I think it works best under heavy acceleration.

That is way too high. You will never keep it in the power band if its set that high. You will be in and out of vtec during shifts. I liked mine at 48 but its stock right now since my motor has about had it. SEE SIG
