i need help choosing an engine to build for an all-motor setup in a Da6 or Da9 integra.. what would be your choices,

B20Vtec (4000$ CDN for the swap with I/H/E ) then build it slow
B18c (alil cheaper, and i would have more money left over to build it up)
B16a/b (a is the cheapest but slow 1300-1500$ CDN for everything in and working)
(b fairly expensive but would be a nice addition..)

 

I don't really have a choice, seeing as I'm not very familiar with b series setups, but if you're planning on building an all motor setup (which I'm assuming is including all internals) I'd go for the cheapest motor of whichever engine you buy. Go for the b16a over the b if you're ripping it apart anyway. know what I mean?

B16=hard to squeeze more power out of it all mota
B18C=great starting point
B20= sleeving

B18 and B20 great choices both have advantages and disadvantages

 

all depends on what your plans/driving needs are for the car. If its a daily driver, I'd go w/ a b20z stock bottom end w/ a vtec head.

 

sweet thanks guys.. how much are new sleeves for a b20... does anyone know?? or would it just be easier to build a b18c?

 

for all motor with CR < 12.5:1 the stock b20 sleeves are fine
