Default Variant idle/high idle on my new y8 swap

OK, new d16y8 swap into my 92 Si (d16z6), 5spd transmission.
Using my 92 (z6) throttle body, with y8 intake manifold and everything else.

It "hunts" (revs up and down between 750 - 1100 rpm) and then idles high (about 1100rpm) when its cold, but as soon as engine warms up, it drops to perfect idle of about 750rpm.

I know its an airflow problem, either the cold air valve (remember, using my z6 TB) or maybe the EACV (from my z6)...should I be using my y8 EACV?

Everything else works (and no check engine light) ...so I'm kinda confused. The timing is perfect too.

thanks
-mike
