my sister drives a 1999 LX accord 4 cyl. she said she was driving home, and in the parking lot she notices the check engine light come on, and suddenly all the lights come on, and then, the engine shuts off. I'm not sure exactly about any other symptoms of the car, but had a question.

If an o2 sensor went bad, would it cause the car to just shutoff like that?

 

No, the O2 sensor won't kill the engine.

Did the car restart normally? Stick or automatic? Was the wheel cranked all the way to one extreme?

 

Does it start up at all? if it gets to the point where the lights come on, she can read what code it's throwing
