Default b18c1 pistons in b18b1 block?

this may be a stupid n00b question, and i've searched already.

Looking at getting some new (stock) pistons and rods for an engine overhaul i'm doing. I'm looking for something that will be good to boost on, and i'm having trouble finding some very low mileage (even brand new) b18b1 pistons. I've found tons of gsr pistons, but i can't find the compression ratio on them anywhere. Also, do the GSR pistons NEED the oil squirters to work OK, or are they cool without them? I know they probably aren't the best to boost on, but if i can't find any LS pistons, i may have to go with GSR...

any suggestions on where to find some LS pistons, anyway??

Sorry for the stupid n00b question...

what motor are you putting them in?

I suggest you hit up the classifieds forum here and ask around for some LS pistons. If you are going to boost, take advantage of the low compression.

What he said. Low compression is your friend if you plan on being boost happy. If your stockers aren't worn out, why don't you give your block a fresh hone job and re-ring the current pistons? GSR pistons will raise the comp to around 10.1:1 or so. You don't HAVE to have oil squirters when using the GSR pistons, they just help cool the pistons when you're revving a C1 up to 8k+. If you have the $$ to shell out, look into some forged aftermarket pistons, as they dissipate heat much better than the stock pistons.
