hey...any of you with supersonic blue gsrs, or have seen them mistake then for purple?? Because I just bought one the other day, and I really love the color, but some people say "dude, why did you buy a purple car"? wtf is up with that??...

there are a lot of ignorant people in the world. SSBP is a very beautiful color. Just ignore them.

My friend totaled his red 94 teg gsr and bought the supersonic blue gs-R...its NOT purple. That blue is real sexy and rare. It looks real good.

 

Happens all the time.

My friends refer to my car as 'The purple Acura'.

The thing is, it only looks blue in direct sunlight. Every other time it has a purplish look to it.

Park it under a metal-halide street lamp (the bluish tinted ones, the orange tinted lights are high pressure sodiums), and it looks very, very purple.

In my opinion SSB is the nicest color of them all..

 

they say purple because it isnt blue.. i believe honda named it incorrectly on purpose.. guys would not be dead driving a purple car would they.. so they slyly called it "blue"..

about 50% of people call it purple... 50% blue.. ive found more artistic people will call it purple... regular old boring people who stick to rules call it blue..

compare it to every other blue out there.. and its still purple. live to love the purpleness.. purple is not a ghey color.. its more beautiful than most other colors cruising around.. and looks beautiful under any light.. dont let purple-blue haters get to you..

 

i love SSBP gsr's, but they do kinda look purple as does my ABP gsr.

 

Wasn't there a more purpleish color from acura.. I love SSBP....

 

yep...its the violent purple pearl color that's real real DARK purple. It only came in 2k GSR coupes i believe.

 

Hahahaha! Yup! I have one friend that calls my car the Purple Bastard and Grimace. But he has a PY ITR so I call him Big Bird. hehe! So it all works out.

No big deal though. It's all in fun. But in certain light it does look purple. And in certain light you can also see the swirl marks. Doh!

 

SSBP is the ****!...It's rare to find a SSBP GSR nowadays. I only know of 2 in my area.

I didn't know everyone who sees a car as purple is now labeled ignorant. I guess the next time someone doesn't correctly identify a SSBP GS-R as Super Sonic Blue Pearl, I'm gonna call him an ig'nant bastard and slap him upside the head.

Anyway, I don't like the color. It looks nice in some lights, but sometimes it looks too purple for me. The blue-color on the LS Integras are much nicer, IMO.

it's hella rare for a honda color, not to mention it's a headturner color in the sea..

Werd. SSBP is one of the best Honda OEM colors IMO.

 

i get it all the time but just brush it off, most of the time they're just jealous. People refer to it as purple all the time but why not blue? Just goes to show how ppl are just trying to hate on you.

 

SSBP/B-90P is the best color ever!

If you notice... 98 SSBP GSRs were sprayed with a little bit more purple pearl than the 99 SSBP GSRs. Whenever I saw one on the road, I could always tell the 98s and 99s apart.

I miss my GSR.

 

Haha, this thread just goes to show that a lot of guys really are a bit color blind. It's blue; absolutely no question. I see one every time I drive out of my street and it has never, ever looked purple. Maybe the paint has a bit in it, but it is FAR from actually being purple. That's like called Nighthawk Black Pearl "blue".

Are you guys who think it looks purple sure you're not confusing it with dark violet pearl? There are purple tegs out there...

 

if you like the color... who the fawk cares if it's purple or periwinkle! Just tell them to do like Eazy-E and eat a big fat dick!

 

I was remembering that from because I remember my 00 integra brochure had a more purple color compared to my 98 brochure...
