I've been contemplating the same thing. Is your car black or Yellow? Maybe going sleeper is the way....

To go full sleeper, you'd need:

Wingless, LS seats, LS arm console, LS power-lock cover, wheels that don't show the 5 bolt pattern, LS mirrors, remove all ITR badges, remove front lip,

and if you want full extreme:
LS gauges, height adjustable coilover set on high during street driving

There everybody will think you got an LS, even up close...except the big brakes will tip them off if they are smart.

take into consideration that his whole rear hatch is practically ruined and it might be cheaper just to get a used hatch off a gsr ls or something w/o holes.

im talkin about your car in its current condition rob. if you wanna go wingless, now might be the chance to at a lower cost because you can get a used ls hatch w/o any holes, and just get it repainted. but if you wanna keep that R look, then go with another R hatch.

are the r hatches different from the other integra hatches? i know the gsr has the 3rd led brake light hole, dunno if the r has the holes already drilled.

oh, the car is going into the shop tomorrow. a new hatch will not be necessary. I've been thinking about the wingless thing even before my little excursion...

Oh my goodness, why on earth would anyone buy one of the best FWD cars in the world, a limited edition, hand-built engine car, and then take it apart like that and turn it into an LS? That would be a crime IMO. Leave it alone, it's a great car. At least some of the fun of driving the ITR is all the looks of envy you get from the riceboys. I don't understand this whole sleeper thing. If theft or vandalism is what worries people, they should use common sense and don't leave the car alone in public places.

If I take the wing off, will it cease to be one of the best FWD cars in the world? I mean damn, its not like i'm asking about a chevy V8 swap into the back seat or something. oh well, different strokes i guess.

I was responding to another post, where the suggestion was to go everything LS, seats, gauges, center console, door handles, hide the 5 lug pattern, evertyhing. If you just want to take the spoiler off, but keep the rest, I guess that's OK, but I think the spoiler gives the car some of it's character.

Take the wing off, CF hood, spoon rims, CF front lip Besides, the car is all about the engine/tranny/handling anyways, why not save a few pounds with the wing off

Heh heh...try roasting an S2000 after removing your wing, rear wiper, and decals. Then, tell the S2K driver that your's is an LS. One of the pure joys of having a pure sleeper.

Rob- IMO, take it off. It takes approximately 2 minutes to bolt it back on for a track event. Not only will it give you a "sleeper effect", but it will also prevent a thief from ripping it off, leaving your repaired hatch needing more repair. Not to mention, you'll still have your wing safely in your possession

DV- who is a proud owner of an NBP "LS" with 5 lug conversion

Go wingless, looks sleeker. Just do what you want, we know what makes the Type R what it is. The wing doesn't do a damn thing and I proved that this past weekend.
