In search of a street able external fuel pump
Good Day.
I've read through past posts, and it seems like its either weldon or aeromotive for the most part.
Now, i'm not going to be running methanol, and it seems like the weldon 2035 is ridiculously too much flow for what im building for (mid 500-650 at the wheels)
I am also hesitant to go forth with an external setup as I hear most of them can only be run for a certain amount of time before overheating.
What I need is a pump that will not overheat and can work for many hours at a time as my car is street driven and I drive back and forth to events, friend's places in different cities, et cetera.
I currently have a walbro 255lph, and while some claimed they made 500 whp on it, I am still skeptical if it will provide a steady, linear fuel delivery.
I've also see walbro 275lph pumps for sale on this board...which brings me to my next question, what is the highest output pump walbro sells? I was thinking of trying to get away with the 275 lph pump as it seems to be able to deliver a decent amount of extra fuel.

weld a sump to stock tank run the aermotive pump with aermotive filter and you should be fine will last a good long time. the pumps like alot of voltage and also should never be starved for fuel. If starved for fuel they tend to heat up and burn

I have dual aeromotive A1000's on my mustang (yea its overkill, but they're cheap and i'd rather go too big than too small) with a weldon dial-a-flow voltage regulator, and they've done fine on a 1500 mile roadtrip in hot weather.

what material is the stock gas tank made out of?
how loud are these...should I mount them in the rear hatch (spare tire well) or underneath the car?
