Like the topic says i'm wondering if anyone has run this setup and how it turned out? from what i hear the JDM pins are too small to be pressed into eagles,
I'm also wondering if it's possible to substitute LS pins on CTR pistons.

No, the pins are not to small, Eagle rods,as are most after market, are bushed to be fullfloater rods and not pressed. That means you need to modify OEM pistons to accept circlips ( no I don't do that ) or teflon buttons to keep the pins in place. It's easier to buy aftermarket forged pistons, and better.

so there's no size difference between USDM and JDM pins?
what is involved in converting a piston to full floating, and would a machine shop geared toward V8s be familiar with the proceedure?

if you spent the money on rods, spend it on psitons, or sell the rods and go back to stock with ARP bolts.
All thats done is a groove is cut in the piston to accept the C clips wich hold the pin in.
i know the local shop charge $200 (Canadian) to get htat done, so about $1oo US

a local machine shop just quoted me between 100 and 150 to cut the grooves.
needless to say i think it's a bit steep
...there was a post a while back about putting ITRs on eagles and someone said USDM pins could be pressed WTF,
today's all bad news

didn't ever expect to see this post again, embarassing kinda, as it was a last ditch ploy at not having to rip my block apart because of a stupid error.
what i ended up doing was cutting the grooves myself with a diamond cutter wheel on the dremel. just go to a good hardware store and pick up some C rings, the kind with the holes for the snapring pliers on the inside, you'll want some that are about the size of a penny. the whole thing ended up costing about 12 bucks.

I can do this mod but some words of wisdom have been spoken - see above.
