Default upper pillow mounts?

ive seen these on kits made by tein and JIC, and rite now i have the tokico blues and hope to upgrade to sumthing like GC+Konis. but are these upper pillow mounts specially made for those suspensions? also, with them im guessing that you can adjust camber and all that good stuff, rite? i guess my question is could i buy the mounts (if you can buy them separately) and put them on the GC's or would i have to buy the whole kit for it to work? thanks guys!

I think so I have a buddy who got Tein pillow mounts for an MR2 and he didn't have Tein coil-overs or Tein product suspension. I'm interested in using upper pillow mounts with my GC/Koni setup as well.

camber isn't adjusted with the shocks. They're not Struts. They're coil over type shocks. (came out harsh. not meant to be)

what i mean is that its like a plate that can be loosened, then the mount can be moved around, then tightened again. to adjust camber.

For the money your going to spend on GC and koni yellows.. (Koni adjustablity sucks) you can get the SS or close to it.

If you want TEIN pillowball mounts with a GC/Koni setup, why not just buy some TEIN coliovers that have pillowball mounts like the FLEX. I am pretty sure that you can purchase the SS with pillowball mounts for an additional fee if you didn't want to spend that much money for the FLEX. I bet that having all TEIN will work out better than mixing it.

actually, i'd rather go with the GC+Koni over the SS, but this would be for a tracked car. as far as DD, i'd get the SS.

and to the original question, i'm not sure you could mix and match the pillowballs, BUT, pillowballs alone cost like 300 bucks.

and you can't adjust camber on a double wishbone with a pillowball mount, only on a macperhson strut setup. at least as far as i understand it.

i'll tell you definitely when my suspension gets here, if it ever gets here.

Correct about the Struts. Our Preludes DONT come with those. think about it. The bottom of the shock is connected by ONE bolt at the bottom. It's suppose to pivot freely on the LOWER a arm. This has no effect on camber. If you move the shock forward or backward, the suspension geometry doesn't change. I'll never be able to explain it without writing a book, but a picture is worth a thousand words. I'm sure the info is on the web somewhere.

Actually, you don't even have to look at the lower control arm. The upper control arm is what differentiates between the macpherson and a double wishbones system. The top of the struts of macpherson system is held only by the top mount of the shock which enters the top of the wheel well, therefore, shifting the contact point on the top mount changes camber.
Double wishbones have an additional upper control arm that is connected to the lower control arm by watever you call that bar. The shock connects from the lower control arm, goes up between the upper control arm and into the top mount which enters the top of the wheel well. To adjust camber, shifting the contact point in the top mount doesn't do anything as the upper arm and lower arm are still permanent. Therefore for double wishbones, camber kits require adjustable ball joints installed into the upper control arm (there are other types of kits as well). This is just a rough sketch of it, probably hard to understand anyway.
Regarding the question about the p/b mounts, I honestly don't think they are interchangeable, but they DO help alot with response. Sorry, boss is looking this way. Peace
