I can only praise my ACT HDSS clutch setup! I have RACED on it for over 3 years, its about the one thing on my racecar that hasn't broken.. I have 210whp.. It is more great for all motor apps..

Why do people call ACT clutches "stage x"? They dont have stages. They have a couple pressure plates and a few disks, and for the most part you pick which would be right for you.

Honestly, I wouldn't know the right way to "stage" the clutches. Do you rate them by engagement? Do you rate them by torque capacity? Durability? How fast they shift? Pedal effort? How about transmission noise? All of these are affected by the design. For instance, our HDR4 and XTSS are about the same in torque capacity but much different on everything else.

Only reason I do is b/c all of the shops I've ever called about clutches said "You need the Stg2 ACT clutch", so I figured maybe people might know it better by that name, even though it's wrong. I know it's the HDSS

i always thought it was the spec clutches that came in "stages". i could be wrong though. but anyway, i run a clutchnet brass 6 puck disc and a 2800# pp. its really a lot more streetable than you would thing though. i like it and it holds quite well. im putting down 236fwhp on n2o.
