mini me vtec wiring
i just bought my new crx and am going to do a mini me swap. the motor is already done the only thing i have to do is get the wiring done. i am using a stock SI computer. my question is can i continue to use my stock computer with the addition of the vafc unit, or do i need to get the P28. if i need to get the P28 then how do i wire this harness into my existing SI harness? thanks for the help
You can use the vafc unit to engage the vtec.. You also need to tune the vafc to add fuel when it does engage it.. Or you can go with a p28 but the vafc is alot eaiser.. If you want to convert over to obd1 p28 you will need a obd1 dizzy, 4wire o2 sensor and have to remove the resistor box.. You can also use a pr3 obd0 ecu.. It will plug right in and youll only have to run like 2 wires for the vtec and vtec oil pressure switch.. Ohh.. And if you do go obd1 youll need a obd0 to obd1 conversion harness..
yes you can use the stock ecu from the si with the vafc. I have the same setup and have no -prob- with the si ecu basically you don't have to do it.
ok using the stock ecu im going to put the vafc in.
red and orange go to power, black and brown go to ground, green goes to rpm signal, gray goes to throttle signal, pink goes to VTEC solenoid signal output, white goes to pressure signal input. so the yellow pressure signal output, and the purple VTEC solenoid signal input will not be used correct? do i need to hook up the pressure signal wire to the vtec pressure switch or what? thanks for the help

Look on apexi's website for the hookup.. Correct, your not going to use a vtec input.. Not sure if you need to hookup the vtec pressure switch or not.. I dont know if you need to hookup the vtec pressure switch or not.. Im guessing the vafc will send pressure to the ecu at the stock vtec point so the ecu doesnt throw a code on a vtec ecu.. Since your using the pm6 you just need to find out if the vafc needes to see the pressure or not.. I would hook it up since your running wires anyway..
