Any one know how much a mild steel 8pt cage would way??? I wanna save weight by using some fiberglass doors but I dont want to leave my self volnerable to a t-bone. But its obviously not worth to do either(weight saving standpoint) if its going to end up waying just as much as stock.

Mild steel is almost double the weight of Chromoly ,,
Say if steel is like 9 lbs per foot for the legal stuff ,, 1 3/4 .118 wall thickness
Moly will be about 4 1/2 lbs per foot at the legal 1 5/8 .083 wall thickness ..
You can read about the wall thickness on the NHRA rule book .. But it's so much better , just a little more in prices .. But it's worth it .

has anyone ever weighed there doors?? say for example ef civic door??? Because im not fast enough to need a cage but if like I said if I go fiberglass doors and cage and end up weighing the same amount Im thinking its not worth it.
You can't look at it that way ,, I know one door is even hard for one person to pick up .. So just imagine two ... If you go with the 5 or 6 point roll bar it should only weigh like 40 lbs if that .. It's also way safer too .. to go with the roll bars ..

yea I guess. safety first and the cage would stiffen up my suspension alittle. safety>performance. But has anyone ever weighed there doors? I still wanna know. Where can I pick up a 5-6pt cage??? also does it cross where the door is?? because mainly I am afraid of getting t-boned with fiberglass doors. Unfortuneatly I have to drive this car everyday.
My rollcage added 37kg(82lbs) to my car but I got that back by removing the AC, removing the rear seats (needed for the installation anyway) and by replacing the heavy *** front seats with Carbon Kevlar FD3S RX-7 R1 seats. The driver's seat in the pictures is waiting for it's new owner to pick it up
