6th gen auto -- stalling
What coud possibly be wrong?
10 months ago I put this car on 93 octane diet. Then 6 months ago I switched back to regular(87) and everything ran fine.
Then I made a mistake of putting in Citgo regular, since the Amoco gas station near me closed.
Soon after, my car kept on stalling. I had to drive the thing around at 40 mph to keep it at 2000 rpm(so it wouldn't stall) I didn't put two and two together until asked my mechanic.
"Bad gas." he said. "Drive the car until almost empty then fill up with premium. Jersey gas is the best while Staten Island is the worst." He further illuminated.
So four months later, I decide to switch back to 87 octane again(since premium ain't exactly cheap).
Now I'm back to the same problem.
I thought Accords were made for 87 octane, so why am I having this problem? Is there another fix, or am I stuck with putting premium in my tank?
Oh, another thing...my car starts stalling whenever I turn on the radio-- I thought it migh be my subwoofer, so I removed the power to the amplifier, but I still can't have the radio on without my car stalling. The nominal draw on the alpine unit is about 15 amps for 200 watts.
Any thoughts?
Keep in mind the car doesn't stall if I have premium gas in the tank--

there was a recall for 6th gen accords because of the ignition system which was causing it to stall. I had this problem. If you already had this fixed, then disregard this. But If you didnt, take it to ur Honda Dealer and they are suppose to fix it for you free.
