Default Opinions on H&R Sport springs

Here's what I have: 02 RSX Type-S (daily driver, weekend auto-x car)

Here's what I need: A spring that will drop my car 1" - 1.5" and retains driveability while increasing the handling capabilities of my car.

I do NOT want coilovers. What are everyone's experiences with H&R?

I have the H&R sport springs in my ITR. Slightly stiffer than stock, and they lower the car just enough. Quality wise H&R makes some of the best springs around.

Ithink its all about the spring rate. ... H&R "probably" uses better material then others. But as far as feeling the difference in ride quality.. I think its all the same. I mean whats the difference in a H&R 500lbs spring and a Eibach 500lbs spring? How does it compare to a OBX 500lbs spring? Know what I'm sayin??

I have H&R race springs, they are great, yet my car is very low. Bumpy roads are very bouncy, yet agian I can take anyone on turns, no matter how fast there car is. H&R are very well designed, I recommend the sport springs. Have fun. Oh yeah, they are sitting on Koni red adjustable sturts, also recommend a good sturt, unless you are on shocks - then a good shock of course...

I have H&R sports on my 00 Lude. Stock shocks. Lowered about 1.5", improved handling and the ride while harsher is not too bad. I am getting shocks soon though.

Nice springs. The ride is great, not harsh at all but i just don't like how it dosen't fit snug on my shock perch.

Do those use the sport spring or the race spring? Do you know the spring rate?

I believe they use a certain spring which of course allows you to raise or lower suspension by adjusting the coil. Good question, I am not sure what spring they use.

Well, of course there is going to be a difference between progressive and linear. And there may be a difference in spring noise, or harshness in the ride, even compression, etc.. Then of course, most will have different ride heights ( even if just different front to rear to change the weight distrobution). I agree, H&R and Eibach probably make most of the springs for most of the manufacturers in the country..But there is a difference.

I been fairly intimate with my friends Civic Si that had Eibachs on it (came on the car when he bought it). But when he came across a good deal for H&Rs, he sprung for it (pun). And never looked back. I certainly liked the H&R ride more. They just make a superior spring, IMO.

But why don't you want coilovers?
