UNpainting interior
my interior was painted red when i bought it, it's all chipped up and looks like ****. how do i unpaint it, is there any solvent i can use on it that will get rid of the outter coat of red paint, or do i hafta sand it down, etc...
if i hafta sand it, repaint it, what's the process of doing so? thanks.

if youre talking about the plastic pieces (dash, door panels, etc) youre prolly gonna have to take them out (no sense pressure washing the INSIDE of a car
).. if its cloth or leather, then its gonna have to be reupholstered

im talkin about the door panels, and rear inner panels (trunk/backseat, etc) all plastic, it's all painted red and it's chipping and looks like hell... and of course i would take them out to pressure wash them, i'm not THAT dumb

Honestly, once its painted youre stuck.
You can strip the paint off with acetone and some other mild paint removers but that will leave a dry chalky white film over the plastic.
Best thing to do is strip the paint, then go to a bodyshop and have them apply a quality paint with a matted finish. If youre going to fix it, do it right... You wont get these results with a paint out of a spray can.
btw, i know this because we are fixing some "painted" interior trim for a customer at the moment. Its a black interior with chipped and cracked trim.
