Valve cover gasket leak
My car had 9000K when I noticed oil leak/sweat around the valve cover, dripped down and around the transmission. I am using mobil 5W30.
Has anyone else here had the same problem?
Thanks

Yup have the problem. Mine is actually pretty bad.
It occurs because of the angle of the engine. The oil pools in the back of the valve cover where the seal is and somehow finds a way through.
I have 45000 km now. ****, even my old GM Sunfire 2.4 didn't leak this bad!

Thats what I thought first time I pulled the valve cover off. The oil was dripping down the back.
Are you going to have the dealer replace it under warranty?

I would like to have the dealer fix it, but will they?
They sure left a huge mess all over the back of the engine, the axle, and subframe after the last oil change they did, maybe they don't care about a little oil leak from the valve cover.

mikestypes, they should be able to change it under warranty. You have less than 60K.
As for them leaving an oily mess behind, just tell them to clean it up and that there should'nt be any visible traces of an oil leak.

Thats a good idea, also I was thinking of parking the car on a slope, forward so the oil does'nt have a chance to spew out and down.
Don't know why Acura put the engine at an awkward angle.

You can't always drive on a slope, so you will just need to get it fixed. The engine is angled back to allow for more hood clearance. The k motor is relatively tall from oil pan to cam cover.

I changed the valve cover (put a jdm one) and gasket (second one) a couple weeks ago. Hopefully I thought it would've fixed it, even put hondabond, there is no signs or traces of the oil seeping out through the valve cover and valve cover gasket.
I took it out for a hard drive today and it looks like theres a leak where the block and head meet, seeping out to the triangular part.
I called the dealer and scheduled an appointment for tommorow to have them look at it. Wish me luck!
P.S I have a feeling it is the headgasket, if the dealer refuses replacement under warranty and blames the JDM valve cover and or gasket not being changed their dealer, does anyone know if they can do this?

Be sure you or the dealer should be using the Hondabond gasket/sealer...Especially on the places where the gasket meets a corner. The dealer should repair it at no cost. And offer to steam clean the engine for you.

I did put hondabond, apparently the oil sweat has come back at the same area after a couple of hard drives. Now i'm ruling out the valve cover gasket.

Looks like it might be more than a simple valve cover leak. I recommend adding a fluorescent dye to your oil, steam cleaning the engine, then inspect it with a UV light to follow the dye trail.

That is nothing compared to mine. Mind you I haven't cleaned my engine in at least 6 months, so there is alot of dust and **** stuck to the oil too.

I have the jdm valve cover, no traces of oil leaking around the cover and an intake.
I have a feeling the first thing as soon as the dealer opens the hood they will blame either one of them. Do you guys think they can do that? If so, what should I say? I have to be prepared going in tommorow.
Thanks in advance.

Honestly, If your dealer is anything like mine, they will not repair the leak under warranty if it is coming from the cam cover. If it is the headgasket, I don't see any way they could deny warranty coverage.
