Hey guys, just a general question...

I just put a rebuilt alternator into my Toyota and it's dead again...the car shut down on the way home from work yesterday and I had to flat bet it home

Is there anything else that can go wrong except for the alternator? Theres a few small wires that come off the alternator but I don't really know what they do.

Can someone explain in general how the alternator circuit works? Is it switched by relays and fuses?
