I just picked up a hatch the other day and i thought it was a dx, my friend said he's almost positive its a std. it has the d15b1 engine in it with the dpfi. what are some other things that seperate the dx and the std?

 

STD is a 4 speed

 

maybe it's a dx.. my guess is as good as yours.

 

are all std's 4 speeds? if so i have a dx. please let me know

 

As far as I know STD's only come in 4spd. No other model came in 4spd. So that means less wiring for me

 

STD did not have a rear wiper either...most did not have AC although mine came with it...however the deciding factor is the 4 or 5 speed. 4spd = STD 5spd=DX

 

std=mpfi
dx= dpfi

 

doesnt the dx have d15b2 engine and std has d15b1 engine. d15b1 engine is 70hp and d15b2 engine is 92hp. but thats weird if your d15b1 engine is 5spd because it should be 4spd, like mine came. Maybe you have a dx/std hybrid lol

DX/STD/LX = DPI
EX/Si = MPFI
HF = tiny MPFI

lx/dx dpfi
ex/si/std/hf mpfi

sorry if it's wrong , i thought it was right

 

STD also has Vynil seats, while DX has cloth.

Your car is most likely a std with the tranny replaced w/ a dx or si tranny

-or-

A DX with the engine block swapped out for a STD block (not every one does swaps for performance reasons)

use the rear wiper and cloth / vinyl interior as a guide

so that's why my damn car didn't have a rear wiper.

the hell.. why would the lowest model civic have MPFI when the 2nd highest and standard class model have DPFI?

i apoligized for my mistake, and im sorry for misinforming the masses with dpfi/mpfi confusion, get a life and stop ringing in with others. dx dude already informed me im wrong, so now we can all go on with our lives, whhhhhhew im glad thats over cuz i thought the world was coming to it's final end.

Has anyone done a DX swap into an STD? Is it a direct swap or not because they both are dpfi.

 

My Std. = Power nothing, and light as hell

 

My STD didn't even come with a radio.

 

My STD + y8 + Si trans + Si gauge cluster + shift console + passenger side mirror + H&R's + HX wheels = Sweetness....

I had a dx swap in mine for about a week. Then i got a mini-me. If you use the std axles you can keep your std hubs but if you change axles dx or si axles wont fit into std hubs. I tried to put dx axles in with my swap but ended up havin to switch hubs. But other than that dx drops right in same harness and everything but make sure you have a DX dizzy. Dx dizzy is different from std.

yea i guess so. lol. anyways, i think the mpfi wiring is still the exact same. you sure its any more work???

Let me see if I'm understanding you. Are you saying DPFI and MPFI wiring are the same?
