Default Question about crx hf rear drums

How safe are the aluminum rear drums for 87 crx hf? Do they warp under intense heat? Do I have to change to hf rear shoes if I change my cast iron drums to aluminum....?

I wouldnt worry about it I have never heard of anything unsafe about using the aluminum drums.
Alot of people switch to them since they clean up nice.

84-87 needs drums AND backing plates
88+ drums are direct replacement ...no need to change backing plate

one of the reasons for using the aluminum drums is weight...they are 1/2 the weight of conventional drums

Well it's less weight spinning around that the shoes have to stop so maybe...i'm interested in and answer though too. What about heat dissapation?

too bad Honda didn't make aluminum 88+ rear drums
Changing backing plates requires a lot more work
