My friend's 95 civic started grinding it's tranny on the freeway. He claims that he miss shifted, and quickly put it into the right gear, and that after that it wouldn't go into gear. He also said that the clutch was shaking before it wouldn't go into gear anymore. Anybody know what this can be? Thanx a bunch.

remove the tranny and sneak-a-peek at the clutch assembly.

 

I was driving down the highway at some decent speed...hit rev limiter and clutched in to shift to the next gear. Well the clutch would not release even though I had the pedel all the way in, I released and clutched in again this time it released but the damn thing hesitates everytime I would push in the pedel. Now I just decided I'd drop the tranny and see what's up with it... So a buddy of mine (vick_n) started workin on it today in the freezing cold.

MY suggestion... Learn why it's messed up by taking it apart yourself.

same thing happened to me at one point,I blew a spring in the clutch plate, if so, you got lucky, bu if the clutch is ok, id start looking for a good price on a used tranny.
