Default Best headlight bulb to buy for my 97 Prelude?

Hey everyone. My headlights on my Prelude are pretty dim. Any suggestions on a good brand of very bright, white bulbs for my car? Thanks in advance.

they go for about $30 shipped on ebay, search on ebay. some sellers are authorized MTEC dealers too and they carry lifetime warranties. you just pay for shipping of the old bulbs and the new bulbs and you can get a new set for ones that have burnt out

matrix - crap
streetdesigns - crap
streetglow - would buy again
toucan/Eurolite - LOVE, have bought 4 pair and recommend them
PIAA - real dope, real expensive
KOBA - too blue, but really bright
nokya - total crap - the purple ones, cus the blue are too blue - exploded in my teg and i used latex gloves, and wiped the bulbs with the alcohol swabs for no finger oil, twice this happened and they were the oem wattage
MITEC - friends have them and like them

thats about every brand on Ebay i think, i have had a lot of cars, and even more bulbs

no offense but with that much money spent on bulbs, you could've gotten a HID kit.

this goes out to anyone that wants any other colored or brighter headlights...BUY HIDS AND YES 2kflamedlude THEY MAKE HIDS FOR OUR CARS. with the money you constantly pay for buying headlight bulbs..in the long run you will be able to pay for HIDS and the quality, life and brightness is well woth the investment.

between $300-$500

they're cheap on ebay & other sites because of the new law that makes after market HID illegal.

i have silverstars right now and they are good. they are not AS WHITE as the toucan/eurolite bulbs i had. i LOVED the toucan/eurolite bulbs...... they were really white, no blue color to it and lasted a long time. (2+yrs on low beams; still goin strong on high beams)

i decided to get silverstars just for the hell of it... i figure osram/sylvannia knows what they are doing (longevity wise). and advance auto has a special "buy 1 get 2nd half off" AND $6 mail-in rebate.

dont take your chances with cheap bulbs that may blow up in the housing or burn up your wiring harness, which can be an expensive lesson.

good luck.

there are quite few 5th gens with real HID's. 2 of my friends do. installation is ALMOST "plug-and-play".

they do GLARE like hell and you probably will get pulled over quite frequently. it's really really bright but almost stupid bright. even with beams at the lowest setting, it's really disturbing to drive in front of or drive by the car.

doing it the "RIGHT" way would be retro-fitting a projector lamp/HID combo. expensive and is a custom job but man.... they are awesome.

on my white prelude i have yellow h1 "hella" h.i.d.s...the installation was really hard and a lot harder than my friends civic...tons of companies make hid bulbs in h1 for the bb6....and i agree with whitecomet...hids are a lot better investment than buying and constantly going through bulbs cause in the end buying the bulbs add up to buying a hid kit that you would had been more satisfied with.

So how bright are the HID swaps? Ive heard from some people they are to intense, but from others i hear that they love them. Now that HID is cheaper, ill probably be picking a kit up.
