Default how fast are rsx type s

i completely know nothing about k-series motors.....or their cars. how fast do type s's run in the quarter? are gsr's quicker then type s's? how much heavier are they then gsr's. what much hp and torque do their motors put down? how close are their gears. reason why i ask is because i just got done racing one. we were going 85mpg and i had to downshift only to 4th gear (b16tranny) so i don't know if he was in 3rd or not. i just barely pulled on him until my normal misshift into 5th

yes they are faster then gsr. They run on average 15.3 in the quarter. They are alot of fun to drive, plus there new. But if you want rareness, plus classiness, and somthing that will smoke both gsr and type s, get a 93 Prelude VTEC!!

or you could just get an EVO or STi

but as far as weight...the type s weighs about 2700lbs...so it is pretty heavy for a small car...

2671 or something I think is the factory spec (really close anyway) I dont really think that is all that heavy, they aren't really a tiny car anyway.

imo that gen prelude was the worst looking. a cross between oldsmobile up front (and inside) and ek civic hatch in the rear. i liked the 3rd and 5th gen ludes much more since they preserved the "look" of the preludes.

Faster than a Festiva and slower than a m3. As for beating gsr's mild mods to mild mods the gsr keeps right up believe it. Go ask my friend's about that one. But all motor against all motor build up bye bye gsr

those times are a shame

stock rsx-s should hit a high 14 with a decent driver...fastest i've seen was a 14.3 bone stock whereas most will run a 14.6-14.8...this is at sea level so take that into account...the only reason i would expect a type s to run slower is either high elevation or a really bad driver

a types, well driven and stock vs stock, will take out a lude easy...i've seen h22's lose to nearly stock v6 accords

a base model rsx might run a 15.7, but the type s shouldn't...

and what do you mean by stock block, cause the hytech kit or toda kit isn't really keeping your block "stock"...

and the rsxs should be able to pull on a b18c with ease, esp top end...

toda kit is STOCK block all it has is toda cams, ecu, and valvetrain... add some itb's, porting , headgasket and header and youre at 250whp.... there isny any 100% stock rsx's running 14.3 either

Yeah, i agree with that also. I think when he said stock, he didn't mean fully stock. No Type S, no matter how good of a driver can hit a 14.3 bone stock. The guy he saw must have been running on slicks or something like that. If a bone stock Type S runs a 14.8, when i say bone stock i mean FULLY STOCK, i think that's pretty good already.

bone stock with the only thing done might have been lower psi in the tires but i highly doubt it...might have had aftermarket rubber but it wasn't slicks or anything like nitto 555r's...

he was only able to do it one run, his other runs were around 14.5's and it was cold as hell outside with zero humidity

and as far as i remember, toda's kit offered a spec b cam or something...i might be wrong on this, but if it does, you're gonna need high comp pistons with them

and a guy with aem cai, comp race header, comp catback, itr im, toda kit, and toda head gasket, only pulled a 216 on dyno...250 is possible, but you say it as if it's easy

the average rsx driver does a 15.0, where the good drivers can pull 14.8s. the Type S is considerably faster than a gsr. when i was stock i raced a dropped gsr with intake and was still able to pull 3 carlengths from 20-80.

Well if you are running the Toda spec A cams with the Toda ECU, and valve springs it puts you right around 225-233 whp which is decent. You could also run the DC5R cams, intake manifold, and Hondata flash for the k20a it will put you around 228 whp plus this route is much cheaper then the Toda kit. Add a race header and it pushs you to 235-239 whp. The K20 block is a very strong motor.
You could also spend like 9k on the hytech kit and be around 270whp, and hytech was planning on doing minor modifications to the kit and it should push 300 whp all motor.

Stock, a TypeS is faster than a GSR hands down. With an AEM SRI and motor mounts, I ran a 14.635 at 95.08 mph and a 2.39 60'. The rest was STOCK.

so you have all that and still aren't hitting 250hp...that was my point, you're gonna need a little more than what your'e saying

hytech claims 300hp but dyno's of their kit put it near 250...but i'd like to see what changes theyr'e going to make cause 300 n/a would be damn nice and would put it near 150hp/liter...one of the highest hp/liter's out there

Hytech's kit is putting down 260-270 whp. With drivetrain losses, that is easily 300 crank HP.
