Was the EF9 available as a 1992 model anywhere in the world?
This is important for me to know for racing eligiblity of my car in a certain class. I'm pretty sure the CRX was available in 1992 in some markets, but what about the hatch?
I don't understand youre reasoning.
The reason the CRX was available through 1992 was because honda knew it would be replaced by the delsol. which was almost a "different "
model altogether. So they had to fill market demand and then re-tool for a new model. But the basic civic was never "discontinued". It was basically just a redesigned update not a whole "new model". So I could be wrong here, but it sorta seems like you're comparing apples and oranges to me.
Why would a racing class or sanction depend on if the 4G civic was in production in 1992?
And I am aware of the fact that in some countries the del sol IS called a CRX.
And to add, I don't think ANY were actually BUILT in 1992, I think whatever was left from 1991 production was SOLD as a 1992 model.

I'm talking about the EF or "4th generation" hatch. There is a road race series in Quebec where you can only enter if the model AND GENERATION of car has been discontinued for 12 years or less. That means that a model discontinued in 1991 cannot race in 2004, but a model discontinued in 1992 can. I have a CRX and a Civic CX hatch, but the Civic is the one I want to race in 2004.

i know that in japan, they had the crx in 92. The hatch, im not sure. You never know what the rest of the world had. I wont see why if they still had a crx that they would of had the EF9, too.
the crx was available in the uk until 1993. they were all made in 1991 though. i can't recall seeing a hatch registered in 92 or 93
As far as I know the 4th gen hatch production was ended at november 1991.
The CRX however kept in production untill june 1993.
These figures are to be found here in Holland for the Dutch automotive-industry.

i thought that the crx/civic production stopped in 91...but in europe especially the UK, dealers would not title them and keep them in the showroom to save money because they can call that model a 92 or 93 if it wasnt bought by some month or something like that...dave nominous should be able to explain it...he tried for me and i forgot...

I've been looking for these types of figures and info. Is there any way you could supply websites or other sources of info on Honda's productions and overseas operations?

The CRX was still actually the del Sol (Japan) if I'm not mistaken so that means they made them to 97.
But the EF chassis stopped production in 1991. And even if there were CRXs in 92 or whatever, why would it be EF9... that's Civic SiR. Wouldn't it
be EF8?

production had stopped in the factory, but there still remained some unsold.
the date of registration, when the car is actually sold, is the date used to determine what year the car is listed as, not the date of manufacture.
the uk number plates used to change prefix every august, and people would wait until then to buy a car as it made it seem like they had a 'newer' car, although in reality they didn't. dealers found they could get more money for a car with a newer plate.
but i don't know about them doing this to save money, as having a car stood in a back lot for a couple of years surely isn't economic sense. however the '93 VT's were something like £16K
