Default question about 2 wire power door lock kits(universal)

my alarm instructions say to hook up a relay to the actuators that willl unlock and lock the doors. Basically what it would be doing is just sending a 12v source to the lock wire and to the unlock wire. At least thats how it says in the instructions. But what I don't get is where are these actuators going to get the power to operate. Is that short burst of 12v with no ground enough? Most of them com with a bunch of wires and a harness and stuff. Is all the required? I'm just really confused on this whole thing. Any info would be great!!!

this type of acutator is what is called a reversing polarity circuit. Say you have a blue and a green wire on the actuator, and when you apply 12v+ to the blue wire AND ground to the green wire it moves out. When you put 12v+ to the green wire AND ground to the blue wire it will move in. You just have to wire a "lock" relay that makes actuators move in the direction that locks the vehicle, and an "unlock" relay that makes them go the other way. This should already be done for you with the wiring kit. If you are putting it in your EG-SI, they did not come with power locks, wo it should have come with switches so that you can control the locks - it is also easy to tie into a security system after yo install them. This is going to sound really un-manly, but at this point you should probably dive into the instructions (pronounced de-struk-shins)
