Mike you should buy it. It can be your drag car or something.

Onyx - actually the 98 is almost done, Its not easy to rebuild an entire car, especially when you decide to do everything Top Notch
, The 2000 is up on jack stands and next week will have some frame work done to it. Now just to find a passenger door and an Engine.
Hey that's my car!
It's not as bad as it sounds, but since someone may be buying from out of town I'd rather make it sound as bad as possible so the buyer get's no surprises. If it doesn't sell I'll be fixing it in a few months when I get the time, right now I just have too many cars and my brother and I are in the middle of building 2 new race cars for next year! So I really need to part with the GS-R race car too, but I want to make a few more races this year. It's not for everyone, but there's no reserve so someone may end up with an ITR for short money.

No way I'd ever pay 10k for that R. It needs 5-6k in work to make it an original R again.
You can get perfect 97r's for around the same price, and no work necessary.
That thing is beat down hard. Who knows what else has been damaged during it's life.
I'm with the guy above, I wouldn't pay more than 4-5k for that ride.

yeah, I' would also pay 5k at most for that POS. The only good thing about it is that it's still a good chassis. Nothing else on it is good.
I think you guys are missing the point. It would be foolish to return this car to perfect stock, as stated above it would cost as much a an original car that wouldn't have the theft history.
The idea is to build a race car, buy it for 10K, fix it for 1000-1500, and add a cage and safety equipment for another 2500. So for 14K your on the race track in an R. If you are not interested in building a race car this is not the car for you.

You guys crack me up. He is trying to sell this car to someone whom intends to build it for racing, not just installing *racing* parts and driving it on the street as many on this board do.

I think you are missing the point. You can buy a good condition car for the same price, rebuild the working motor and sell the genuine ITR parts for extra $$$$$$$$. There is no way in hell I'd pay 10K for that car when I could get a perfectly good, but higher mileage car for the same or SLIGHTLY more.
oh yeah, I've NEVER seen a car get a salvage title for that little damage. Theft Recovery, sure, but salvage?!? no. There's gotta be more damage then just the parts listed.
Anyone here who would rather take tat car for 10, or a good conditon 97 with say 70K on it for 12, is a complete moron. For a street car OR race car.

Here's a thought. Go buy a 94 LS/RS for $5k and make that into a race car. With the money I'd be saving, I could put more into the chassis and engine. Hell, I could even afford to buy a JDM front end and 5 lug conversion. You'd never know the difference anyways.
