A guy that I sold my s1 JDM tranny to had an LS tranny and he said it was decent but he was getting killed on the track and that's why he wanted the B16 tranny for the shorter gears. He is a member on this site, he had a 91 4 door Teg.

LS tranny sucks with the B16. Period. B16's don't have enough torque to overcome the gearing.

Of course it will work, why wouldn't it, it wouldn't be optimal but it will work.

Nope, shorter gear ratios are always quicker, turbo or not.

If its a good trans and you need it to keep you on the road then swap it in. Its only three months

It's a common misconception that an LS tranny on a B16 is better than a shorter geared one, such as the S1.

As for the LS tranny falling out of vtec when you upshift depends on your rpm's.

If you are shifting at 9k and your vtec hops on at 5.2 I think you'll be able to stay in vtec when you shift!

btw: that's my setup but I have a ys1 and I often run out of revs at 9k in 5th down the straights.

I want kinda both, so I'm leaving the cable b16 tranny and swapping 5th gears just for my freeway cruisage. I can't stand the 24 mpg on freeway vs 28 in the city.haha. vtec at 81 mph peens me
