B-SERIES TB ON A 'D'
new question. Can a b-series throttle body go with a 1998 honda civic ex intake manifold, does it matter on the years? what needs to be done to be put on?
does anyone have the gude throttle body, ist it good in comparison to the stock?

actually with some modding you can mate a 94/5 ls tb onto a 96+ ex intake manifold. I am pretty sure you have to block off the water ports. but it can be done. I think theres a guy around here by the name of mistah bone that has that setup.

yea I thought I heard that worked.
any hp gains by doing this noticed?
whats the size difference between the two?

All H, B, and D series TB bolt up to eachother. They all are machined with the same bolt pattern.
The primary differences are idle circuits, bore diameter, and throttle cam/pull style.
A Type-R throttle body is a 62mm direct bolt-on for a D16Y8 engine. The throttle cam is just a bit smaller than the civic one, but can use the same throttle cable and backet.

lol please explain if yes or no if you are going to make a comment.
YEs. a Bseries TB will fit on a Y8manifold. you might have to change the spring assembly on them though dpeending on the TB u are using.

also if your putting a b-series tb on a z6/y8 manifold make sure you match port the size correctly with the tb its slightly bigger than the z6/y8 tb

Well I was thinking to do that because the b16 tb i believe is a 60mm bore in comparison to a 58mm. I was thinking just for the accesory since it should be cheaper to run a b-series tb than buy a gude for 250 plus core/unit or buying those new aftermarket for a stupid 350 and higher for same size or lil bigger.
the ones that has a different tb than the stock, do you guys feel a difference? what part do you feel? is it more on the bottom, mid, high?
do they have different fitting onthe throttle body sensor, etc. to fit or just a waste of time and money?

You will notice improved throttle response, but that is all on a stock engine. The larger throttle body is useless unless you have modifications which require more air, such as a cam.
You don't want to sacrifice air velocity for air quantity. If you go too big on the tb or intake, you will bog.
