Default IMmobilizer removal? any one got a 96 prelude h22a ECU>?

Honda equipped the 97 prelude and the 97 accord with the immobilzer program. We are trying to find a way to remove the ship in the ECU so that the swap will run. Some on posted that You can visit a dealership and have a key made that will work with the ECU if you can show proof it's a legit ecu. I am buddies w/ the guy who sold the ECU out his oen car so we may be able to get a key top match the ACCORD switch , but give off the resistance to start the prelude ECU.......????

SO if we have a 97 accord and are running a 97 prelude ECU we can have the dealership make us a key???? please help, a swap almost completed depends on this!!!

well the key idea won;t work only because his car even thought it is a 97 accord wasn't equipped with and immobilizer....

lets get this part of the topic over with:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 98AccordEX &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">send it to http://www.jdmhondaparts.com and they can remove the immobilizer for you. if someone wants to steal a car then all they need to do is have an ECU with it removed and swap them out. its not that hard to think of. if someone wants a car bad enough they will have it</TD></TR></TABLE>

Thanks man, for the back-up.... if anyone wanted to steal a car, the 75 for a jumper or the price of a reprogram would be worth the pay off from the parts in the end.....

I just need to know how to soider the chip out so this damn motor will run!

many moderators are deleting these post as the think it is gona add to the theft of many cars when it would take *** long to plug a de-immobilzed ecu as it would to pluga in a jumped obd1 ECu so it is gonna beequally as hard to steal the immobilizer equipped cars as it was before...... nothing owuld change........

iI have a buddy here in town that reprograms ECU's and from the looks of just the internals of the prelude mother board to the accord mother board you can see where the immobilizer is missing from the accord. At first i though a mere unsoider of the immob. chip would be enough (there is only soider on the accord where the imm. chip is on the lude. But i noticed that there is also some line soider to break the lines to the chipp i guess...,maybe to complete the path, bypassing where the immobilizer would be if eqquipped....

a note to the moderators of HONDATECH, i am not tryinf to steal cars an again, even if someone knew how do de-immbolize a car 1. it couldn't be done on site 2. if i had an immobilizer less ECU it would be just as hard as removing the immobilizer equipped ecu and added the immobilizer less ecu as adding a jumper harness... so blockin a thread being used for good owuld be futile. BLOCKING KNOWLEDGE TO OTHERS JUST BECAUSE IT "COULD" BE USED FOR BAD THINGS OR EVIL" IS SOMETHING WE SHOULD LEAVE UP TO OUR GOVERNMENT.......i JUST WANT TO GET THE ACCORD SWAP DONE!

actually there is a **** load of info you there, apparently you dont know where to look..

h22a.org, accordinglydone.com, hs, honda-acura.net, hondaswap.com, etc.. almost every site has this info, since its the most common accord swap and really the only one, unless you have something older then 90..

i never said you bought the ecu alone. i just said its WORTHLESS, just deal with. you get parts all the time with stuff that arent going to be worth anything.. sell it and get the ecu that you need!

Something you/he should of looked up before buying the swap... the info is out there, most ppl just refuse to hand it to you on a silver platter..

if you can do what you said with the ecu. then do it and be happy.. good luck

I had an immobilizer removed from my 97 prelude ecu for the same reason. Only it was an h22/civic swap. Its not worth doing. After the guy removed it you would have to wait 5 seconds or whatever for the cel to go off after priming the fuel pump before it would crank. I went and bought a 96 ecu same as you are looking for, but switched it to obd1 instead. If I was you I would make friends with and inspection shop, and just go obd1

well you must have not been paying attention as hard as I thought, we have a 97 accord EX thus the 97 ECU.... and handed it on a silver platter? sorry i wanted to know how to fix something other than spending more money..since my boy has almost 3 grand in his h23a/vtec swap right now as it is....... sorry we got the wrong ECU hoping that the 97 ECU would work easily with the 97 accord wiring...ohh and it would be celaner than some jumper harness. and another ECU...

me

This place is starting to remind me of a AOL mustand forum....more **** talking and bashing than info

HERE IS HOW TO GET RID OF THE IMMOBILIZERS MY FRIENDS: i had the same problem and here is how it works...there are many ways. one is you can run a 98 gsr ecu that doesnt have an equipped immobilizer on it. but the thing is your motor wont be running great cause of the fuel curve on the gsr ecu. another way is to take your car to the dealership and have them use a "PGM TESTER" to remove the immobilizer on your stock ecu. this works for the 5th gen prelude bb6.
