whining noise when turning..found the prob.!!
there was 3 other R's with this prob when i posted it the first time. well when i make a low speed turn there is a whining noise kind of like a rubbing. well you need to change the tranny oil and make sure they give you the high performance hydralic oil. my proplem is fixed.
I have a new LSD, the old one was broken and it had a chain reaction so the gearbox also went to hell, now that was loud! but I remember when the LSD was broken the noise when parking was rather much, but it ofcourse reduced when I changed it..
I dont know what exactly they did to my car while at the dealership but when i was there one of the techs went on a drive with me so i can show him what it was. then he told me to go back to the dealership to pick up another tech(it was a slow service day so they had time). they told me its going to take some time to fine out what exactly it was so they gave me a loaner to drive. two days later i called and they said i can pick up the car(i picked it up last night) but when i was there the service department was already close. all the statment said is that they "fixed noise" didnt say anything about what the noise was or anything. today i called to ask what they did and the tech that performed the work was not there and won't be there till tuesday the other tech that was with me on the drive said he thinks that all he did was flushed the m/t and put new "high performance hydrolic fluid". i dont know what kind but i will find all the details for you guys on tuesday the 25th. i know how you guys feel, let me know if you guys want me to ask any spacific questions about what they did because im not real good with car talk.

how did you break it??....or was it faulty to start with?
the former owner told me that it went at 13k km´s and was a factory fault. He was always talking **** with the dealership so they wouldnt help him. I bought the car and they helped me, although it took a few months, changed the LSD and the gearbox. The x owner said it was a factory fault but I suspect that he went to a ditch or something and the LSD was hit

okay, called the dealer and matt, the service adviser said all they did was flushed the fluids with honda MT fluids. He also said there was 2 different kind of fluids for integras the gs,ls,rs used a differnt fluid then the gsr, type r's. if you have any questions you want to asked contact. Tustin acura Phone # is 714-669-9900 and ask for matt at service. tell him that you have the same problem as mike the guy with the yellow itr.

Typical dealership....The local Acura dealer did the same f-up on my R and on Austins R as well. Made a whining noise while turning. The changed the fluids and the noise went away!
Seems as though taking the car to the dealer for service isn't as good of an idea as it sounds!
BTW Prestige acura in Santa Rosa Ca SUCKS!!!!! I.E:Scratched valve cover and plug wire cover. Oil all over engine compartment following service. Rotated directional tires from side to side(backwards!) wrong trans fluid installed. And the list goes on....

I think that they just don't like YOU! I haven't had any problems...then again, I opted to rotate the tires myself
(front to back of course)

hehe....maybe thats why you are called the punk
but really i think the people with a whining noise just got the wrong tranny fluids get it flush and you should be alright as long as its the right oil.
