first, its not your rotors that squeek... its the pads..

Second, don't waste money of x-drills, they won't do jack for you...

I would stick with some Brembo blanks. Best bang for the buck.
If you *really* want x-drilled rotors the powerslots are pretty cheap.
I have a set on my civic because they were the only thing my supplier had in stock. They're just a little more than the Brembo blanks and work fine. Performance-wise, theres little-to-no difference between these and the Brembo blanks.

Easy to get rid of the squeeking (of the pads)...Just apply anit-squeal gel or spray to the backs of the pads and liberally coat all the pad shims as well...

Brembo doesn't make drilled and slotted rotors. Usually those are made from brembo blanks cut by another company.

Get the blanks. Far better than slotted/cross drilled. If you want cross drilled for cheap your going to look like that pic.
The size of the stock 4th Gen brakes are not large enough to use cross drilled IMO. Less friction are = less braking power.

Won't always work. Cheap pads often will squeek.

racing pads squeek like a **** if you use them on the streat.

I would not advise anyone to get crossed drilled rotors for their car, unless it's a show car and you get extra points for that or some crap.

I got brembo blanks off ebay for 40 each for the fronts + shipping

I would never buy cross drilled/slotted rotors.

I am curious as to what the big hype is about cross drilled and slotted rotors? Why do people think they brake harder? Also, why do high end sportscars and racecars have them? Do they help get rid of heat or somthin?
Thanks!

The big hype is ThEy MaKe YoUr rIzIde lOoK DiZoPe YO! In other words rice. There is nothing anyone is gonna be doing on the street (or even on the track for that matter) that the stock rotors on a Prelude can't handle just fine. High end sports cars have them because they have the capacity to go fast enough to where it might make a difference and still this is only for those who push thier vehicles to the limit. They were used because when pads get heated to extreme temps gas builds up in between the pad and the rotor the holes let the gas escape, I don't even think new pads give off these gases anymore though. Also they are supposed to expel trapped water when driving in wet condiitions.

One more question about brakes. When I downshift and take off and then try to slow down it seems like my brake rotors are wobbling or somthing they make a really loud sound its hard to describe. Also the car does not brake as hard as normal in these conditions. Has anyone else experienced this? Do you know what can fix it?
Thanks!

maybe your rotors are warped. my 300zx did that when it had warped rotors.

If my rotors were warped wouldnt that mean that even in normal decelleration and braking it would do the same thing? When I am daily driving that does not happen only when I go really fast.
Thanks!

pad deposits... Sand them down, get some axxis ultimates on the front, and bed the **** out of them! Heat them up really hot, that should fix it.

i've also heard that cross-drilled crack, so i went with OEM replacement Brembo blanks, got em from nopi.com for 72 shipped and they were a cake walk to install, i love them

like slamming on brakes from 120? it's fun to watch the sparks flying into the air when braking hard at night.
