Default Getting my JDM H22 rebuilt. Should I have any work done to the valves??

Hey guys. I am having a friend rebuild my engine. He suggested doing something to the valves where he shaves off some portion of it (I can't rember now). Should I have this done?? Is there any other little things that can be done to help increase flow/performance??

I am not looking to do anything radical...so keep that in mind.

Thanks

ain't nothing wrong with a good valve job might want to swap the valve seals while you're at it
