V8 Sounding Exhaust...
What exhaust would you suggest if one is looking for a low, V8 sound? I really like the style of the Greddy Evo and the sound clips I've heard sound pretty low. Any other suggestions?

That doesn't make a 4cyl car sound like a V8. Know what the *** you are talking about before you
someone.

If you don't like the way your car sounds (4cyl), then sell it. Different Engine=Diff Sound. Good luck

You all just ruined this freakin thread. He was asking how to make it sound deeper. Totally legit question.
Yeah,...since he wants his car to SOUND like a V8...that means he should buy one..huh??
Nice advice guys.

bore your engine to 89mm and run a magnaflow
boring your engine 2mm over will actually make it a lot deeper, i was quite amazed at how deep my exhuast sounded, even with using a can style muffler

hahaha.... i mean, think about it, deep exhuast isnt based on overall displacement, its on cylinder displacment. the 2.3L race engines my brother-in-law uses sound like beasts right, they are all deep, sound like 350s..... but yet a small bore V12 like a ferrari has is still a high pitched sound more similar to a Honda (similar in comparision to a 350, but still no where near the same, mind you)
You could always reroute your exhaust piping so it had a bunch of extra bends & turns. Certainly not gonna help you in the power department, but extra bends will deepen/smooth up the exhaust note.
firing order and the header design have a big influence on noise
My subaru for example sounds alot more like a v8 than an inline 4 does.
But
This is largely due to the use of unequal length headers, equal length headers on a subaru boxer ej20 would make it sound alot more like a honda or a similiar inline 4

Headers on a WRX aren't gonna change exhaust sound all that much . . . . you've still got a turbo sitting in the middle of your exhaust flow - that's where your sound quality comes from.
