Someone please help me. I want to get this project i started done tonight, and i have no clue how to get the cd player out. Some tips would be great. By the way i have a 97 prelude

 

Just get a flat head screw driver and pop the plastic surround off. Then you will see 4 phillips head screws that you will need to take out.

 

How easy is it to pop out the fake carbon fiber plastic part? I am scared that i might break it. It is very very tightly put on there.

 

just do it very slowly, take a shirt and prop it up against the side so it doesn't scratch as bad.

 

technically it shold pop off like he said. I have a helms and that is what it says, however, my deck is sitting on my desk right now because i have the same fears...

 

It's tough plastic, and it is only held in by clips. You can tug on it hard, it won't break. Just be careful of the soft vinyl dash material if using something like a screwdriver. You can do it!

 

Hey everyone. Thanks for the tips. I finally got the stock cd deck out, and was able to put in my aftermarket one. Getting the plastic off is not hard at all. It just takes guts to do it. I mean who would want to mess up there dash plastic?
