I would think you would end up paying way too much for that much HP.

sounds nice, really nice. but it would cost a lot. All for quality parts and quality workmanship though. you get what you pay for. quality stuff

for starters, do you have any idea on how much money you are talking about spending? Next is, on a N/A motor putting down the kind of power you want, you are going to have to drive it on a higher octane than what you can find at the pump. So if this car is going to be a daily driver, that is something else to think about.

Hey I got a price quote from them it should be about $7-8 grand, this is not including the shipping charges and any other charges that may apply. It is probably better to buy the parts and have a mechanic or shop you know to do it for in the U.S it would be cheaper. And plus it depends on what kind of setup you are looking for b/c this is a N/A setup.

Talk to junbb1, he got the crate motor from JUN that you are talking about. Search for some of his old posts... I believe he is putting out right at 215hp on a mustang dyno.

Probably cheaper if he talks to you and goes turbo. 400+ to the wheels

Canadian beer.

Holy Hell!!! It would not only be cheaper to have a shop here in the U.S. do it but it would be cheaper to resleeve and go turbo!!! + w/boost you'd put up higher #'s.

Maybe he wants to stay N/A?

I know I would rather have 300 N/A HP than 300 turbo HP.

Tell me who puts out 300 N/A on a H series motor and retains the car as a daily driver. Trust me 300whp on a turbo would be much more reliable then 300whp N/A.

I believe blake (junbb1) got the motor straight from japan if I remember correctly.

On a honda motor to achieve 300 WHP you would have to run an extremely extremely high compression motor with an *** of timing. I would say a MINIMUM of 15.5:1 with a heavy duty valvetrain such as the jun 4's (if it's a H series) or if it's a B series then maybe the toda d's. And just keep in mind you will be stroking the motor if not running a type of hybrid. If you were to run pump gas on a motor like this you would blow it very quickly, especially in the summer months. So basically you are looking at running at least 110 octane, preferably 116 though. Does that sound very reliable to you?

Basically this motor would only be useful for drag racing and drag racing only. And just in case you were wondering, the highest whp N/A honda motor I have come across has been 250ish whp done by IB.

So let's compare motors here... a motor that is sleeved with pistons that can push out an easy 300whp and still run pump gas or a motor with 15.5+:1 compression that can only be driven on 116 octane in order to not detonate... The 300whp turbo motor will long outlive the 300whp N/A motor. I am talking about B series and H series motors here, I know the K series are capable of 300+ whp thanks to hytech.

No offense, but why couldn't the N/A motor be used for circut or track use? Just a thought because everyone always puts these high horsepower vehicles on the drag strip, but this all depends on the setup.

not sure you'd want something as high strung as a 15.5:1 2.2L I4 on the track...

i emailed JUN japan about shipping the engine to australia. It was when converted 21,000 AU dollars, in US terms thats roughly 16,000 US dollars to the nearest port. Then you have import duties etc and taxes and then you need to get it to your place from the nearest airport.

Why not?, just wondering because its no like your going to drive this car on the street anyways. So mind as well put everything you got into the motor, suspension, chassis, tires etc. But maybe such high compression is to high for track, but whats the compression on F1 cars or indy cars those are pretty right?
